Don’t just take our website’s word for it! Hear what Black Belt America’s students and parents have to say about our Black Belt America and Training for Life!

"Our daughter really wanted to take karate. We hesitated—we had this image of karate being overly aggressive and competitive. We knew our daughter was behind in her gross and fine motor skills and was slightly overweight; we just didn’t see her succeeding. We set up an appointment for her introductory class; our daughter loved it so we decided to give the “30 day trial offer” a try. We were still hesitant—we didn’t see how this possibly could be a positive experience for her. Since our daughter started karate 8 months ago she has more self-discipline, her listening skills have improved, her shyness is disappearing and she is becoming more of a leader, and physically she’s improving. Her lead instructor has made these things possible because he has reinforced a “never give up” attitude. I am a Milwaukee Public School teacher and I greatly admire her lead instructor’s teaching style because it caters to the whole child. Black Belt America is more than we ever expected and has been a positive experience for our whole family. It caters not only to the physical being, but also teaches children self-control, leadership, focus, and gives them the skills needed to succeed in life."

"Three years ago our two daughters were taking karate at another local school. They heard through friends what a positive experience the Middleton academy provided so we left the other karate school. We experience mutual respect every day at Black Belt America; their lead instructor uses positive reinforcement and the girls want to do their best as they work towards becoming Black Belts—because they want to, not because they have to. Each instructor is kind and respectful. There are no “favorites;” every child is equally important. Karate has helped the girls’ confidence and respect for themselves and others. We believe that this whole experience will better prepare them in the future for school and work. Our daughters made the commitment three years ago to become Black Belts and they’re almost there! We realize that this will be their first major accomplishment. We don’t have enough time to truly tell others how great Black Belt America is!"

"A little over a year ago I got a free month of karate and I liked it so much that my mom signed me up. I think it is important for people to know self defense and be active in every class. My instructors are really good at teaching karate and they have helped me with responsibility like being more active with my chores. I concentrate on my school work and get good grades. My mom said I have been a better participator in other activities."

"We chose Black Belt America-Fitchburg due to Mr. Tracy’s excellent reputation. He was referred by word-of-mouth. Our son struggles with moderate to severe anxiety. Taking karate at Black Belt America-Fitchburg has helped teach him strategies and exercises to help him deal with the anxiety. It has also boosted his self-esteem, focus, and confidence greatly. Our son is a gold belt and his physical strength and coordination have improved steadily. Along with his adoption of the Black Belt “I Can Do It!” attitude, we have seen improvement in his school work, at home, and in other sports. Our Lead Instructor’s influence on our son and the other karate students is amazing! Our son’s respect for his Lead Instructor, his peers, himself, and us (his parents) is wonderful. Our son feels positive about himself in ways that we have never seen. Karate is a big commitment of time and money. In the end, however, we believe it to be a good value for us and invaluable to our son."
