Mr. Don Wideman, 5th degree Black Belt, is the owner of and driving force behind Black Belt America—a martial arts academy whose curriculum is distinguished from all others by its mission to develop life and leadership skills through the martial arts. Trained by Mr. Randy Reid, 6th degree Black Belt, Mr. Wideman and his wife, Theresa Wideman, 3rd degree Black Belt, have invested their 40 years of combined martial arts knowledge and experience in the development of martial arts programs that will make every family member strong in body, mind, and spirit.

With twin girls of their own, Don and Theresa Wideman understand how important it is for children to participate in programs that offer more than time-filling activities. That is why they created Black Belt America as a place where martial arts students pursue life and leadership skills as a primary—not secondary—focus of their martial arts training. Having started their own training in the martial arts as teens, the Widemans also understand that a great martial arts academy must also address the needs of teens and adults who want to begin or continue studying the martial arts.
